Rugged Outdoor Shoe Market Rose 6.4% In 2017
The global outdoor footwear market accelerated on the wholesale level in 2017 to $4,791 million from $4,502 million, bouncing back after a small decline in 2016, with strength in both U.S. and international sales. The sales gains were broad based, in part helped by the slightly weaker dollar this year against the euro, but only two brands in our table reported year-on-year declines. The comparisons were eased by a market that had largely stabilized after the chaotic 2016 roiled by retail bankruptcies.
