Rocky Brands’ Profits Gain in Q1 but Top Line Declines


RCKY’s 280 basis points of gross margin expansion helped more than double net income to $3,251,111 from $1,495,941 in the first quarter despite 3% lower sales at $61,386,673 vs. $63,072,954. The higher margins, now 34.2% overall, were boosted by a 32% gain in high-margin commercial military boot sales, which more than offset lower contract military sales.
