Retail industry groups are pressing for a uniform national facemask mandate in response to reported confusion among customers and a series of violent incidents by customers against retailer workers over mask requirements. One incident this month took place at an Oklahoma City Skechers store. A widely circulated video showed a woman throwing two boxes of shoes at workers in response to their request she wear a facemask. Skechers said it would maintain mask requirements and that it now supplies stores with complimentary masks for customers.
