Retail Imports Surge in Advance of Dec. Tariffs


Imports in November are now expected to equal those in July for the highest volume months this year, according to Hackett Associates, which produces the NRF’s monthly Global Port Tracker. While recent news on the progression of U.S.-China trade talks have given cause for optimism, retailers planned to get shipments landed before the next round of tariffs was set to kick in on Dec. 15.
