Remington Preparing for Bankruptcy, Again


The gunmaker, which emerged from a previous bankruptcy in May, 2018, is preparing to file for chapter 11 again, and is having discussions to potentially be acquired by the Navajo Nation, the Wall Street Journal reported. While other firearms companies have been buoyed in the past few months by the explosion in fear-based firearms demand driven by the coronavirus pandemic, that tailwind has apparently come too late to save Remington. A new bankruptcy filing could come as early as this week, according to the report, citing sources familiar with the matter.
