Rebel Sports Sales, EBIT Improve Despite Pandemic


Sales at Super Retail Group’s sporting goods banner increased 2% to A$1,038.6 million ($692.4 mm) from A$1,016.4 million for the fiscal year ended June 27, including same store sales growth of 2.7%. Sales declined in April when Covid-19 closed stores in Australia, but rebounded during the fourth quarter with +9.1% comps in May and June. Fitness and hardgoods were the best performing categories as stay at home orders led to strong demand for home fitness products.
