Rawlings Consolidates Baseball Biz with Easton Acquisition
Rawlings, which is jointly owned by PE-firm Seidler Equity Partners and Major League Baseball, is adding the baseball and softball bat, glove, protective gear and apparel brand Easton Diamond Sports. The seller is Peak Achievement Athletics, which emerged from the ashes of Performance Sports Group after it filed for bankruptcy in 2016. Two Canadian investors, Sagard Capital and Fairfax Holdings, bought the remnants of PSG that included Easton as well as the Bauer, Maverik and Cascade brands, for a $575 million winning bid in late 2017.
