President Trump Says He Expects to Hit All China Imports with Tariffs
Ahead of a G20 meeting between the President and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he expects to raise tariffs from 10% to 25% on some $200 billion in imports and go ahead with tariffs of either 10% or 25% on the remaining $267 million in Chinese imports not already subject to tariffs. Such a move would increase costs on 45% of all the products that the sporting goods industry imported from China in Q2, by far its largest source of goods, including 31% of all sneakers, 42% of apparel and 55% of sports equipment.
