Patagonia Sues Anheuser-Busch over Beer Trademark
One of the world’s largest breweries is accused by Patagonia of deceiving the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office into approving the registration of the Patagonia name for a supposed micro-brewery selling beer, and it then tested a pilot program at ski resorts with representatives wearing suspiciously similar apparel using the logo and including a very Patagonia-like marketing message in its marketing of donating a tree for each case of beer sold.
