Outdoor Recreation Economy Grew 3.9% in 2017
The new report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis shows the outdoor biz outstripped the 2.4% inflation-adjusted real GDP gain that year, the most recent period for which data is available. The retail trade sector of the outdoor recreation economy accounted for $95.7 billion of current-dollar value added, the manufacturing sector another $51.7 billion, and wholesale trade $34.8 billion.
