Olympia Sports is Being Wound Down
The Maine-based small market retailer will close its remaining 35 stores by the end of Sep., the Portland Press Herald first reported, ending a relentless downsizing that reduced the chain from its 2013 peak of 226 locations. Olympia’s current owner is CriticalPoint Capital, which in 2019 acquired it from the founding Manganello family to combine with the JackRabbit running specialty chain that Finish Line had paid $9 million to exit two years earlier.
