Obituary: Frank Dassler


The third generation of the founding Puma family died June 20 in Hamburg. He was 64. The son of longtime Puma CEO Armin Dassler and grandson of founder Rudi Dassler, he began his professional career at Puma during his law school studies working in PR and research and moved into an operational role as president of Puma’s U.S. subsidiary from 1985-87. When control of Puma passed to Aritmos, he founded his own law firm which specialized in the sporting goods industry and that firm is still operating as Antwaltskanzlei Dassler.
