Obituary: Curt Mueller


One of the most colorful characters in sporting goods, Curt Mueller died Oct. 19 at the age of 85. He founded Mueller Sports Medicine in 1959 and pioneered the idea of producing products to keep athletes of all levels in the game despite injuries and maladies. He was a three-time letterman in basketball at Wisconsin with a major in pharmacy and started his business two years later to improve training room supplies from gauze and tape.
