Nike to Take Over MLB Deal from Under Armour


Nike will supply on-field apparel for Major League Baseball beginning in 2020, as Under Armour has backed out of the deal it originally inked in Dec. 2016, Sport Business Daily reported, citing a confidential source. Fanatics will manufacture and distribute the replica and fan apparel and accessories for the league, but teaming up with Nike instead of Under Dog. Dropping the sponsorship will save Under Armour about $50 million, at a time when it is prioritizing cost saving over raising its exposure. An announcement is possible for the MLB All-Star game.
