The Eager Beavertons are suing Skechers again, this time alleging that the Skech-Air Jumpin’ Dots shoes and Skech-Air Mega shoes infringe on Nike’s U.S. patents 7,401,420 and 10,098,412, copying Nike styles in a practice that it has previously called “Skecherizing.” The ‘420 patent is for footwear having a fluid-filled bladder with a reinforcing structure, and the ‘412 patent is for a particulate foam midsole with other cushioning. The suit, filed in Central CA District Court, is asking for findings of patent infringement, and injunction against Skechers, an award of treble damages and costs and fees.
