Nike, Lululemon Supplier Looks Beyond Vietnam


Taiwan-based Eclat Textile, which makes apparel for NKE and LULU among others, is now looking to diversify its production outside of Vietnam into Indonesia and Cambodia, Bloomberg reported. Chairman Hung Cheng-hai said that the company had moved its manufacturing out of China in 2016 in favor of Vietnam, but that its new priority is to establish factories across multiple countries to further spread out risk. Eclat currently has over 50% of its production in Vietnam, and is concerned that the Trump Administration might impose tariffs there as well as on Chinese goods.
