Consumer advocacy organization truthinadvertising.org has filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, asking the agency to investigate New Balance’s made in the USA claims. The FTC adopted a new Made in USA Labeling Rule in August, which gives it the authority to fine companies up to $43,792 per violation for deceptive made in the USA labeling.
