Nautilus Sales Rebound in Q1 on Home Fitness Boom
Customers working out at home due to gym closures and stay-at-home orders resulting from the coronavirus, fueled an 11% gain in Q1 sales to about $94 million, NLS’ first quarterly sales improvement since Q3, 2018. The increase was driven by Bowflex and Schwinn, including SelectTech dumbbells and kettlebells and the Bowflex C6 and Schwinn IC4 bikes, but Max Trainer sales continued to founder. The strong results led NLS to raise its first quarter guidance, now expecting EBITDA from continuing operations of flat to positive $1.5 million.
