MLB Floats Plan to Start Season in July
The owners have proposed an 82 game season with an expanded playoff format that would initially be played in empty stadiums. As has been rumored for some time, it would include expanded rosters, the DH in all games and a realignment of teams geographically rather than in their usual divisions and leagues. The proposal has yet to be accepted by the players union and there are still questions about testing, family contacts and the share of revenue that would be split between the players and the owners.
