Mizuno’s comprehensive net income was off 43% in its fiscal second quarter ended Sep. 30 to ¥1,315 million ($11.7 mm) from ¥2,287 as revenues declined 2% to ¥43,304 million ($383.9 mm) from ¥44,198 million. Net income excluding comprehensive items edged up to ¥1,594 million ($14.1 mm) against ¥1,588 million. Americas sales led all regions with a 12% improvement to ¥4.7 billion ($42 mm) in FQ2. Year-to-date, footwear sales here have grown 15% on an improving running market and equipment gained 14% boosted by expanding golf sales, including balls and bags as well as clubs, but apparel dipped 2%.
