Kathmandu Hit by Retail Closures in H1
Kathmandu Holdings bounced back in the fiscal second quarter ended Jan. 31 after widespread store closings due the Delta variant, but still expects to end the first half slightly below last year, projecting revenues of about NZ$405 million ($286 mm) down from NZ$411 million. The Kathmandu banner rebounded in Q2 with +15.1% comp store sales, and was +2.8% for the half, or +15.7% adjusted for Covid closures, but still well below pre-Covid levels due to reduced tourism.
