January Firearms Imports Shoot Higher
Gun imports continued 2020’s momentum in Jan., with handgun imports growing 181% to 335,837 units driven by big increases in both pistols and revolvers, according to ITC data compiled by the NSSF. Rifle imports more than doubled to 65,387 units, and shotgun imports more than tripled to 260,736. Feeding gun enthusiasts’ insatiable demand for ammo, other cartridge imports gained 70% to 308.6 million units, and shotshell imports jumped 175% to 26.3 million units.
