The Great American Outdoors Act, which passed the Senate last month and is now awaiting a vote in the House, received the support of 127 sporting goods and outdoor companies, who sent a letter to House leadership, urging passage of the bill before the August recess. GAOA provides $900 million annually for the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and also earmarks $1.9 billion in spending per year to address the maintenance backlog on federal public lands.
