Himaraya Sees Sales Gains from Golf and Outdoor


Net income at the Japanese retailer was ¥301 million ($2.9 mm) in the fiscal first quarter ended Nov. 30 against a loss of ¥162 million last year, on 6% higher revenues of ¥14,774 million ($141.4 mm) up from ¥13,982 million. Sales gains were driven by a 22% increase in outdoor gear sales and 4% growth in golf, while general sporting goods sales inched up 1%.
