Hibbett Surges on City Gear and Organic Growth


Powered by a $43.7 million contribution from City Gear and a 10.7% jump in comp store sales at Hibbett stores, third quarter net income increased 51% to $2,265,000 from $1,499,000 on 27% higher revenues of $275,475,000 against $216,888,000. HIBB shares jumped 18% on the results. Based on the stellar Q3 results, HIBB is raising its comp and bottom-line guidance for FY2020 and now expects +4.0% to +6.0% same store sales, up from +1.0% to +2.0%, and earnings of $1.55 to $1.65 per share ($28.5 mm), up from $1.35 to $1.50 guided previously.
