Gun Stocks Jump on Las Vegas Shooting
Gun stocks all rose on the news that nearly 60 persons were killed and hundreds injured by a gunman on the Las Vegas strip. American Outdoor Brands rose 3.6%; Sturm, Ruger was up 2.82%; and Vista Outdoor was up 2.35% in mid-day trading. Perhaps reflecting the unlikelihood of additional regulation, these jumps were mild compared to the increases after the Orlando shooting when there was an expectation that Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election.
