Gun Control Ads Surge as Midterms Approach
Ads promoting stricter gun control have aired 102,636 times, 22 times more than the 4,491 that were shown four years ago, according to an analysis by the Wall Street Journal of data from Kantar Media. Gun rights ads have also increased since the last midterms to 63,070 from 24,194. So while gun rights dominated the airwaves in the last mid-terms by better than a 5:1 ratio, the gun control ads have a 63% advantage now.
