Gulf Marketing Group Buys Royal Sporting House
Dubai’s Gulf Marketing Group, which is Nike’s distributor in the Middle East and operates over 300 stores under various banners, has acquired Singapore’s largest sporting goods retailer and its 200-plus stores there and in Malaysia and Indonesia from Al-Futtaim Group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. GMG said that it plans to leverage RSH’s infrastructure to expand its Sun & Sand Sports banner east into Asian markets, noting the acquisition increases its global reach to over 700 million customers.
