Government Case Unravels Further as Star Witness is Questioned
Brian Bowen Sr., father of former Louisville recruit Brian Bowen Jr., testified under immunity from prosecution that he had collected payments from various persons that would violate NCAA eligibility requirements years before he even met the Adidas execs charged in the case. And another payment, $1,300 for rent when the family moved to Louisville, was made by one of the college’s assistant coaches. This payment was made just after Louisville was placed on probation for another infraction involving players and strippers, raising the issue of whether the NCAA would further discipline the program.
