Gildan Boosted by Activewear in Q2
Activewear outperformed for GIL in the second quarter, with 27% growth to $758 million driving overall revenues up 20% to $895.6 million from $747.2 million, resulting in net income of $158.2 million, up 8% from $146.4 million last year. Fleece and ring spun products in the wholesale distributor channel led the growth, while basics continued to bounce back with the return of large events and tourism.
