Giant Rides Bicycle Boom to H1 Gains


Giant Group net income gained 25% to NT$2.2 billion ($74.8 million) in the first half over NT$1.7 billion last year on surging sales driven by consumers’ newfound interest in cycling due to the pandemic. Q2 sales of NT$19.7 billion ($669.7 million) pushed H1 revenues up 8% to NT $33 billion ($1.1 billion) over NT $30.7 billion on bicycle demand following lockdowns across all regions and strong European e-bike demand.
