Firearms Trade Was Mixed in January


Total handgun imports declined 24% to 123,037 units in Jan., including a 21% dip in pistols and a 44% drop in revolvers, according to ITC data compiled by the NSSF. Rifle imports declined 48% to 30,511 units, but shotgun imports jumped 41% to 73,077 units. Ammunition imports were mixed, with other cartridges up 36% to 181.6 million, but shot shells down 51% to just 9.5 million units.
