Expectations Are Low for Current China Trade Talks
Both sides are signaling that the round of talks scheduled to last two days in Shanghai will not produce much progress towards resolving the trade conflict between the two countries, but they are hoping that both sides follow through on certain goodwill gestures that will at least pave the way for more substantive talks in the future to iron out disagreements over intellectual property rights and government support of key industries.
