Dunlop Sales, Profits Drop in Q4


Sumitomo Rubber’s sports division revenues declined 14% to ¥19.9 billion ($180.2 mm) in the final quarter due to lower sales in the home Japanese market, which became increasingly promotional as the year progressed, and operating income was halved to just ¥0.7 billion ($6.3 mm). For the full-year, sales increased 3% to ¥84,477 million ($765.2 mm) from ¥81,734 million. Golf equipment sales of the high-end XXIO 10 clubs, which launched at the end of 2017, were strong in all markets, and Srixon and Cleveland Golf sales also improved in export markets.
