Dicks, Hanesbrands Announce Major Retail Furloughs
Dick’s said it would lay off a “significant” number of retail employees Apr. 12 though it will continue benefits during the furlough and keep a small number of employees working in stores where permitted, distribution centers and the home office. It also said these employees and executives will work at reduced pay. Meanwhile, Hanesbrands said it will lay off employees at 1,200 stores in the U.S., Europe and Australia while continuing benefits as well as another 575 U.S. employees who will also continue to receive benefits.
