Net income attributable to shareholders slipped 59% to ¥753 million ($7.1 mm) in the fiscal second quarter ended Sep. 30 from ¥1,856 million last year, as revenues fell 25% to ¥27,344 million ($257.7 mm) from ¥36,447 million. The results represented a significant recovery from Q1’s plunge, however. Gross margin narrowed 210 basis points to 53.3%, while SG&A was down 22% in yen on reduced marketing expenses and sales commissions, but still deleveraged slightly on the lower sales. Descente is still expecting full-year revenues to come in at ¥101,000 million generating net income of ¥5,000 million.
