Net income was $923,000 in the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 28, against a loss of $1,149,000 last year on 6% lower revenues of $95,889,000 down from $101,675,000, in line with DLA’s pre-announcement in Jan. The shorter Holiday shopping season along with Christmas falling midweek were both headwinds to sales, and the Delta Group segment and Salt Life were both down. The bottom line last year was pulled down by a $2.5 million pre-tax negative impact from litigation around The Sports Authority bankruptcy.
