Deckers Takes Profit Hit from Shipping Costs


Net income was 9% lower at $232,943,000 against $255,536,000 in the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, despite 10% revenue growth to $1,187,752,000 from $1,077,759,000 in the seasonally important quarter for DECK. Direct-to-consumer grew 13% to $589.4 million, or just under half of total sales, while wholesale gained 7% to $598.4 million. DTC comps increased 10.7% from last year. International growth far outstripped domestic in the quarter, expanding 28% to $391.6 million, while the U.S. was up just 3% to $796.1 million.
