Columbia Sportswear Net Jumps in Q4 Despite U.S. Market


Net income rose 34% to $84,715,000 from $63,350,000 for the final quarter ended Dec. 31 on a 3% improvement in sales to $717,450,000 from $699,414,000, led by growth in Europe of 20% to $70.1 million from $58.2 million but also including a 2% increase in the challenging U.S. market to $455.4 million from $446.2 million. Canada, however, was off 12% to $40.0 million from $45.3 million and Latin America/Asia Pacific was up 1% to $151.9 million from $149.7 million.
