Columbia Has Strong Q3 on Broad-Based Gains
Net income jumped 19% to $119,258,000 from $100,152,000 for the three months ended Sep. 30 as sales rose 14% to $906,793,000 from $795,801,000 with both the top and bottom line all-time records for the company. The gains were powered by the Columbia and Sorel brands as retailers restocked depleted inventories from the snow-filled winter season in North America and Europe with the former up 14% to $729.5 million from $640.9 million and the latter leaping 27% to $116.1 million from $91.2 million.
