Net income slipped 7% in the first quarter to $5,309,000 from $5,677,000 on a 50% jump in sales to $113,276,000 from $75,331,000, benefiting from the acquisition of Rhino-Rack on July 1 and Maxtrax on Dec. 1, contributing $24.5 million and $4.2 million, respectively. On a pro forma basis, sales posted a 6% gain. Domestic sales were up 31% to $62,307,000, while International gained 84% to $50,969,000.
