Chinese Counterfeits Targeted by DHS
The Department of Homeland Security released a new report, Combating Trafficking in Counterfeit and Pirated Goods, where it maps out a number of recommendations for combating the flood of counterfeit goods coming from China. The report addresses issues raised by the Trump Administration in a memo last April, in which it warned of the impact of counterfeit trafficking and ordered DHS to come up with a plan to fight it. Of course, in the context of the confrontational trade climate at that time, this was just one more way for the Administration to pressure the Chinese.
