China Trade War Heats Up as U.S. Raises Duties To 25%


What started out looking like a threat turned into a promise as the U.S. raised duties on $200 billion worth of China imports to 25% from 10%, effective today, including a number of key sporting goods categories. President Trump is further threatening to impose duties on the remaining $350 billion in Chinese imports not already subject to the tariffs, essentially escalating the impact from one where most of the impact was felt by the industrial sector to one that would hit the consumer sector heavily.
