China Trade Talks Said to be Nearing Conclusion
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin told the New York Times that the two sides are meeting with hopes of finalizing a deal but key issues remain outstanding. A key sticking point in the negotiations has been enforcement mechanism for any deal and Mnuchin indicated that the two sides had made progress on that front. Still unclear is what timetable is being discussed for lifting of the tariffs already in place on $250 billion in Chinese imports, including a handful of sporting goods products.
