China Tariffs Stay on for Now
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that tariffs imposed on Chinese imports by the Trump Administration would remain in place for the time being pending a thorough review, in an interview on CNBC. Also being reviewed is the Phase 1 interim trade deal that halved List 4A section 301 tariffs and cancelled threatened tariffs on List 4B when it was signed in Jan. last year. China has fallen about 42% short of the $200 million in purchases of U.S. products and services that was required by the agreement.
