China Tariffs Likely To Continue At 10% If No Trade Deal
President Trump said that he would not meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping before the Mar. 1 deadline, but CNBC reported that the administration will likely keep tariffs on some Chinese imports at 10%, rather than raising them to 25%, citing inside sources. Trump had said earlier that he would meet with Xi this month, possibly before his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Vietnam Feb. 27-28.
