China Tariffs in Two Stages and No Relief for Sporting Goods
The Administration said most List 4 tariffs will be implemented as President Trump stated earlier on Sep. 1 but a handful of items will see the tariffs delayed until Dec. 1. The Tariffs on $300 billion worth of Chinese imports include about one-third of athletic apparel and footwear and 60% of all sports equipment. The final list gave the sporting goods industry, which filed 72 petitions for exemptions, not a single victory, according to SFIA.
