Bi-partisan Bill Would Shift Burden of Proof for Forced Labor
U.S. lawmakers have introduced the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act to crack down on Chinese sourced goods produced through forced labor. The bill, proposed by Rep. James McGovern (D-MA) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), would allow goods from the western Xinjiang region to be imported only if shown by “clear and convincing evidence” not to involve forced labor.
