Back-to-School Spending Forecast to Grow 16%
Deloitte’s 2021 Back-to-School Survey shows parents optimistic about economic recovery and planning to up their spending for this year’s season despite some lingering pandemic concerns. Total sales for the season are projected to increase 16% to $32.5 billion over $28.1 billion in 2020 and 17% from $27.8 billion in ’19, with 40% of households expecting to spend more on BTS items, up from 22% in the prior year.
