Attorney Michael Avenatti went on trial Wednesday in New York federal court charged with attempting to extort more than $20 million from the Eager Beavertons. The prosecution and defense dug in their heels with the differing views debated in the media since Avenatti’s arrest during their opening statements to jurors.
